Solar Attic Fan FAQ

What Is a Solar Attic Fan?

A Solar Attic Fan is a type of ventilation fan that runs off of solar power. It works by forcing outside outside air through the attic and out the vent, thus cooling the attic space. This method of attic ventilation is way more effective than natural ventilation since the air inside the attic is exchanged more times per hour with a solar powered fan.

What Are The Cost Benefits Of Installing a Solar Powered Attic Fan?

Solar Attic Fans pay themselves in just 1-2 summers. Solar Attic Fans will keep your home cooler while using your AC less. They don't use electricity to operate, and will prolong the life of your roof and framing. The amount of money you will save overtime will be 10 times what your investment will be.

Why Would I Want To Keep My Attic Cooler?

During the summer, as the sun radiates onto your roof, your roof's tile or shingles become extremely hot. This causes the heat to be transferred through the roof and heats up the air in your attic, eventually entering your living space. While attic insulation slows this process down, it does not eliminate the heat transfer process entirely. If your attic is not very well insulated, it will do very little to stop heat from getting through. Also, a hot attic stays hot during the night hours, so even at night heat still gets into you home. By removing the hot air from your attic, the process of heat transfer into your home is minimized. The less attic heat this is transfered into your home, the less your air conditioner will need to kick on. If your air conditioner unit doesn't need to run as much, you save energy and money every month.

Are The Solar Attic Fans Loud When Operating?

No, you can barely hear them running when your standing inches away from one. The fan blades used in our solar attic fans are specially designed for a whisper quiet operation.

Is There Any Wiring Required To Install Solar Attic Fans?

No, our solar attic fans are manufactured completely assembled and ready for use, you just need to install the unit.

What Is The Purpose Of The Optional Thermostat?

If you don't want your solar attic fan running 24/7, we suggest you add this optional feature. The thermostats are preinstalled for you so you don't need to worry about installing them yourself. Each thermostat is preset to 85 degrees. So when the temprature is below that mark, you attic fan will be turned off. Your unit will turn on only when the temprature is 85 degrees or more.

What Kind Of Warranties Are Included?

Our solar attic fans come with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. We also supply every order with a one year money back guarantee.

What Is The Purpose Of The Adjustable Panel?

We use attic fans with an adjustable panel so when you install your vent fan, you can adjust the solar panel so that it's getting full sun exposure. The more exposure the solar panel has to the sun, the more power it'll produce, causing your attic fan to work to it's fullest capability.

What Sets Your Attic Fans Apart From The Rest Of The Market?

Our attic fan blades are made of strong aluminum, not that cheap plastic you will find at other places. Also many attic fans on the market have just 4 blades, which doesn't allow for maximum air production. The fans you see on our website are made with 5 blades.
