What Sized Tubular Skylight Would Be Right For My Home?
Our tubular skylights will work for any room. Some rooms require more light than others so below is a general guideline when purchasing a tubular skylight. If you want to put a tubular skylight in your walk in closet, pantry, hallway, bathroom or bedroom we suggest that you install a 10'' Tubular Skylight which has an approx coverage area of 150 square feet. If you are looking to add natural light to your kitchen, living room, master bedroom, garages, family rooms, or office, we suggest you install a 13'' tubular skylight which has an approx coverage area of 250 square feet.
Will Cold Or Hot Air Get Into My Home Through The Tubular Skylights?
No, our Tubular Skylights are virtually air proof, if installed correctly you will not have to worry about having outdoor tempratures getting into your home.
Will Leaks Get Into My Home If It Rains?
No, they are virtually air proof, so you will not have to worry about anything getting into your home through the tubular skylight. After installation you should take a hose up on your roof, and spray around the tubular skylight to make sure it's correctly installed.
Do I Have To Insulate My Light Tube In The Attic To Prevent Condensation?
The choice is yours, but we can assure you that you will not need to insulate the light pipe. The Tubular Skylight has been designed to prevent these issues from effecting the product.
Does Roof Placement Matter?
When installing a tubular skylight, the first place if possible would be to install it on the southwest side of the house. If you are unable to do that you can install it wherever you want, you it won't make that much of a difference. Make sure not to install it next to chimneys, trees, or anything that can prevent light from entering your Tubular Skylight though.
Does It Matter What Kind Of Flashing I Purchase?
Yes it does. If you are installing your Tubular Skylight on a pitched roof, then you will want to use a pitched flashing. If you are installing your tubular skylight on a flat roof or have a cathedral ceiling, you will want to go with our flat flashings.
How Long Does It Usually Take To Install a Tubular Skylight?
If your installing a Tubular Skylight for the first time, it should take you about 2 hours for installation. Just make sure to follow the directions step by step for an error free installation process.
If I Don't Want To Install The Skylight Myself, Who Can?
We don't have personal installers that work with our company, but any handyman, roofer, or carpenter can install the tubular skylight for you. You can find them in your local newspaper, or by searching google for local roofers.
Do The Tubular Skylights Come With Any Kind Of Warranty?

Can I Still Install a Tubular Skylight If I Don't Have An Attic?
Yes you can, the minimum space needed between the roof and the ceiling for a proper Tubular Skylight Installation is 6 inches.
What If I Have An Obstruction In My Attic, Will There Be Any Problems With Installation?
We give you the option to purchase 45 degree elbows with your Tubular Skylight Purchase. These are excellent for getting around air ducts and other obstructions in your installation path. There is no limit to how many you can use, every installation is different and it won't effect the amount of light your tubular skylight produces.
How Much Light Is Actually Reflected From The Tubular Skylights
The silver anodized aluminum used in the light tubes of our Tubular Skylights reflects light up to 90 percent. If you have never seen a tubular skylight in action, you will be amazing after seeing how much it will improve the interior of your home.
Can I Control The Light Coming Through My Tubular Skylight?
Yes you can, we provide both manual and wireless electric dimmers for your convenience to dim the light produced by the Tubular Skylight. You can find those products in our Skylight Parts Section.
Determining What Type Of Roof You Have Before you can install a tubular skylight you need to know what type of roof you have, that way you can be sure you ordered the right flashing for your tubular skylight kit.
Pitched Roof For pitched roofs we offer a pitched flashing which has a 4" wide base to seal firmly onto your roof. The design of our aluminum flashings prevents elements like water from entering the skylight.
Pitched Roof With Concrete Or Tile For concrete or tile roofs, you will need an aluminum skirt with the pitched flashing for correct installation. You can find our aluminum skirts at our Skylight Parts Section.
Flat Roof If you have a flat roof you will want to use the flat flashing for your installation. We have two different flat flashings for you to choose from, which are listed in the flashing options menu above.
